Hi, I’m Fernando! (yes, like the Abba song)

Fernando Barbosa (he/him) is a first generation Brazilian-American actor, singer, and musician currently based in New York and Boston. A performer since a young age, with a background initially and primarily in music, Fernando has never been a stranger to the stage.

It wasn’t until his sophomore year of high school, that his love of the arts ran deeper than just music. He was introduced to the movie version of The Phantom of the Opera by a friend in his band class. He was never exposed to the theatre growing up, and, admittedly, his first reaction to it was, “huh, do they really just sing the entire time?” Young Fernando did not understand what a rock opera was yet. Upon further inspection (in other words- watching that 2011 pro-shot) of the musical, he was hooked. 

When not on stage, Fernando can be found cooking, reading, playing guitar, and being the ultimate gym bro. And like a true Brazilian, he is an avid soccer fan and an Arsenal FANATIC (WHAT DO WE THINK OF TOTTNEHAM?).
